On the 1st of November 2010 i am opening a new addition to the Pauls-Place brand, i will be opening a body shop catering for all forms of painting and repairs. Anything from restoration work to custom paint jobs, all will be undertaken here in a large workshop next to my engine build shop.

This is the first car through the workshop although we have painted other cars in other workshops. This is a Solent renegade club member's car which needed a full re paint. The car was covered in micro blisters from a previous paint, once we started removing the paint a whole list of horrers were uncovered!!
What we found as you can see by the pictures is alot of rust that was covered in filler in the lower half of the car. The convertible roof had leaked over a period of time and rusted the car from the inside. The door bottoms are bad and so are the rear panels.The paint is almost all off now so welding start's next.
Extensive work is going on with the doors as the bottoms were rusted out, new panels have arrived for the rear quarters so we can start on those next.

They do say things get worse before they get better !

This car came in for some rust to be sorted on the front wings,the rust was cut out and replaced with metal and is now being painted. Colour match is always an issue with this type of repair, i think we got it right though!

Here is a really nice old merc that has been pulled out of a garge after being there for 20 years as the task disc says. The car is well worthy of a re-paint and body wise isnt in too bad a shape but the floors are a little worse for wear.

As before i will post pictures as it goes so keep an eye on this beautiful classic!

All done, now the car is off for new interior and an MOT. This car came out really nice with a new lease of life for another 20 years!

This car has been fully welded by the owner, fitting new rear quarters aswell as repairing the front wings, As you can see thje wings need some shaping and the new doors he has fitted dont fit very well so we will be getting all the gaps right before she is striped. The car has currently had this done and most of the shaping has been done. The car will now be striped of its doors,wings and bonnet aswell as glass for the rest of the work. This is a lovely car which i cant wait to see when done.

All finished, and what a beauty! She has come out lovely with the pearl paint. She is lovely and straight and the bed liner finishs her off, what do you think?

This car was painted about 2 years ago, and who ever did it didnt put enough paint on the car. because of this alot of corrosion has come through the paint even though the car was in a garage for the last 2 years. We have removed most of the old paint and then repaired the corrosion issues, alot of it was surface rust which was ground out and treated before it was etched. Basically the job is just a blow over but us being us couldnt leave it as just that.We primed the car and wet flatted it twice to get her nice and stright as there were a few dings here and there, but she has come out nice and is going back togethor as we speak.

For all you ford fans out there here we have a real lotus cortina! The car was on the road and running when she came in but oil leaks from the engine and really rough paint work didnt look good. Some one in her past life had fitted a webasto sun roof !! sacrilidge ! Still...it came in to have a new lease of life and the roof must go! As you can see we took great care in getting the stripe just right, the colours are original Ermine white and lotus green.

The engine is the later MK2 with more output but none the less it is still an original lotus. The engine received new gaskets all round and a fresh coat of paint.I think she came out well, we painted the inside aswell as the car is going to be rally prepared with roll cage and bucket seats.The roof has been filled in and chrome trims removed.

This car was a working car but looked pretty tired. We were commissioned to give her a new lease of life.This meant engine out, completely repaint the car including engine bay and boot.

The paint was cracked in several places and had no shine at all, so we stripped it back. the engine bay was really bad as you can see by the pics. The engine was completely covered in oil, so was all the forward running gear. The big clean up began, the engine received all new gaskets and a coat of paint. Once back in the car it was looking like new.

She also received a new set of spindle mount spoke wheels which really sets her off.

To get browny points with the better half i painted her car over the christmas period. The car paint wise was pretty rough with some scratches and small amount of rust on one of the rear arches.
Because i painted my own car Kandy Brandy Wine she loved the colour so much she asked for the same. See what you think.

This is my new project for 2012, i hava all ways loved the shape of the 3rd Gen camaro and this car was a low mileage original example running a 305 with 5 speed manual ! I am currently building a nice street 350 for it but have painted it recently in Kandy Brandy Wine house of Kolor ! All ways wanted this colour on a car, only waited around 20 years for it but finally !
The body work was pretty straight on it with a few blemishes, but i hated the colour. it looked brown to me so had to go. The aftermarket hood was on the car when i bought it.
The nose had paint cracking all over it so most of the work went into that but she came out really nice, i have found a way of creating Kandy paint jobs without the full expense of buying all the house of kolor products.There is a full range of colours available so if you fancy it ask for a quote, I THINK YOU WILL BE SURPRISED !!
